Woodward: What You Need to Know About Copper’s Terrain Parks

Nestled along Interstate 70 in the Rockies of Colorado, Copper Mountain provides a family friendly ski and snowboard experience, with terrain for every skill level and style of shredding. Copper’s expansive bowls and high tree skiing have attracted skiers from all parts of the world to experience the height of Colorado’s snow sports. A lesser known attraction, Copper’s terrain parks offer seemingly endless opportunities for freestyle skiers and snowboarders to test their skills on any number of jumps, rails, and the like. Although Copper’s winter terrain parks boast incredible skiing and snowboarding, its year-round offerings provide opportunities for skiers and snowboarders to hone their skills away from the slopes.

Winter Terrain Parks

Copper Mountain provides designated terrain parks among the many ski runs during ski months. These parks are open to anyone to test and perfect different skills and tricks on the mountain. Visible from several area ski lifts, skiers and snowboarders can show off their prowess in front of small crowds. Among the terrain parks, Copper builds a massive superpipe at the base of their two most popular lifts, American Flyer and American Eagle. This superpipe hosts several professional competitions through the year, bringing big name skiers and snowboarders to the area.

Off Season Training

Copper Mountain’s training ground, Woodward, provides freestyle camps and lessons all year round. Their summer camps run throughout the warmer months, and welcome skiers and snowboarders of any age and experience. These camps are the only summer freestyle camps offered in the entire state of Colorado. Using the leftover snow from Copper’s massive winter superpipe, crews create the same terrain park elements that exist in the peak of ski season. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Woodward’s summer camps include BMX, mountain biking, scooters, and cheer camp. Woodward offers something for everyone!
