Fans of Utah’s Solitude Mountain have a lot to cheer about. The popular skiing destination now joins Alterra Mountain Company’s family of 13 Iconic mountain resorts as its latest addition. Rusty Gregory, Alterra’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the new addition to the company’s impressive stable of year-round resorts.
“With its close relationship with Deer Valley Resort, Solitude Mountain Resort is a natural fit for Alterra Mountain Company and a tremendous addition to our family of destinations. We are especially excited to expand our reach within Utah and offer another ski and snowboard experience in a state known for its exceptional snow and mountain culture,” Gregory explained in a recent press release announcing the purchase.
Solitude Mountain is nestled in Big Cottonwood Canyon, less than a 35-minute drive from Salt Lake City’s International Airport. Enjoying a vertical drop of 2,030 feet, the mountain offers 77 runs on 1200 acres of pristine land. Reminiscent of an Alpine village, the facilities provide year-round activities and a varied mix of available lodging.
The great news for the loyal fans of Solitude Mountain is that they now can take advantage of the popular Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass. Both of the season’s passes gives skiing fans combined access to up to 26 of Alterra’s year-round resorts at great savings. Each of the passes offers skiing for most days with fewer restrictions. Both passes provide up to 25% off window prices with their “Friends and Family Benefits”.
Destinations offered by Alterra are located throughout the US and Canada. They include:
