Here are some perks of downhill skiing that will get you on the slopes when there’s some good snowfall in Big Bear, California, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, or in other popular skiing spots in Colorado, New Mexico or Oregon.

Mountain Views
One of the best things about downhill skiing is that you get on a chair lift and it brings you to the peak. Sometimes it’s not the very top, but you’re high enough that once there, you can look down to see the most breathless views of the mountain range and the valley below. There’s nothing quite like it.

Flying
Whether you are a novice at skiing, an intermediate or an advanced skier, you’re bound to get some air. You’ll hit some moguls and there will be times you just sail down the hill and it’ll feel like you’re flying.

Cardio
Just putting on all of your layers of ski clothes from your base layers to your ski jacket is a way of shedding pounds and getting fit. You have to put on your ski boots, carry your skis, before you even get to the lift.
