Here Are The Best Season Pass Deals for 2017-2018

If you’re even an occasional skier or snowboarder, you really should consider investing in a season pass. Though they may seem pricey at first, season passes are one of the best ways to save money on winter sports. Mountains and resorts have banded together to offer huge discounts on lift tickets if you’re willing to make an upfront investment for next winter.

Even with this season’s powder still fresh, it’s not too early to think about next year. Here is a breakdown of the best season pass deals that are happening now for the 2017-2018 season:

The Epic Pass
Cost: $859
Ski days: As many as you can handle
Resorts: 14
For $859, you can ski as much as you want at some of the world’s most famous resorts, including: Vail, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly, Park City, A Basin, Mt. Brighton, and 30 resorts across Europe in Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland.
If you live in the west and your favorite mountain is on this list, the Epic Pass is your best bet. Ski 10 days (which you might do by Thanksgiving), and you’ve already paid it off. Plus, you’ll get free access to the world’s best resorts if you’re up for traveling.

The Mountain Collective
Cost: $399
Ski days: 32
Resorts: 16
With the Mountain Collective Pass, you can ski a total of 32 days at 16 of the top resorts in North America: Aspen Snowmass, Banff, Jackson Hole, Mammoth, Revelstoke, Telluride, Taos, Sugarbush, Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows, Lake Louise, Alta Ski Area, Coronet Peak, Snowbasin, Snowbird, Sun Valley, and Thredbo. Passholders get two days at each ski destination in The Collective, plus a third day at any resort. For skiers and snowboarders who want to experience the best slopes and resorts one weekend trip at a time, this is an incredible deal. If you use all 32 ski days with this pass, your cost per day breaks down to just $12.50 a day. Not bad for a lift ticket!

The M.A.X. Pass
Cost: $629
Ski days: 220
Resorts: 44
This is the best choice for people who ski locally throughout the season, but like to take a couple big trips to destination resorts each winter. The M.A.X. Pass is expanding for the 2017-2018 season, now giving passholders five ski days at each of the 44 participating resorts across North America. This pass includes ski days at: Big Sky, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Winter Park, Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Killington, Alyeska and Mt. Bachelor, among many others. Plus, passholders can score special deals on additional days at their favorite mountains.

Peak Pass
Cost:$299 to $599
Ski days: Unlimited
Mountains: 7
This is an excellent option for diehard skiers and snowboarders in the Northeast. Get unlimited access to seven mountains across New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and New Hampshire, including: Attitash, Big Boulder, Crotched, Hunter, Jack Frost, Mount Snow, and Wildcat.
This pass is the most customizable on this list. There’s an option for weekday skiers, an option for college-age skiers, as well as an all-inclusive option that guarantees season-long mountain access without blackout dates. If you plan on hitting the slopes primarily in the Northeast next season, this might just be the pass for you.
