Management of Red Mountain Resort wants to keep skiing affordable for the average person and family, instead of skiing being only available to the wealthy. Thus, the campaign name: Fight the Man. Own the Mountain.
The campaign offers shares of the resort in six tiers, and provides different perks at different tiers. All tiers offer access to the private clubhouse for owners on the resort, a donation to a scholarship fund, and lift tickets. The tiers are priced at $1,000, $3,500, $5,000, $7,500, and $10,000. At tier two and above, the perks include at least one pair of custom-designed skis or a custom snowboard. The number and value of ski passes rise with the tiers, and by level five, accommodations are included.
All that, and you really do own a piece of the mountain! Buyers receive equity in the company, but no voting rights. The shares are transferable – you can buy or sell them based on the value you give them. You can own your own piece of a skier’s paradise while you fight consolidation in the ski industry.
