Lift Tickets Are Just One of Many Ways to Save Money Your Next Ski Vacation

Ski lift ticket deals are some of the easiest to find, but even though they save you a little money, there are additional ways you can save money on your next ski vacation as well.  If you are an avid skier, you’ve probably already thought of many of these on your own, and perhaps you’ve unearthed some unexpected methods for saving cash as well.  Or, maybe you are reading this article and would like to share a new idea you just discovered with some of your friends. Whatever the case, take a minute to learn some more methods for saving cash on your next ski vacation and let us know how you save:

  1. Check all local airlines.  The airport nearest to you may not provide the best airfare prices.  But, there might be several others within a reasonable driving distance that do.  If you don’t mind sacrificing some time by driving a little farther, be sure to check out all of the local airports and see which has the best deal for traveling to your next destination.
  2. Kids ski free.  Most resorts allow children to ski free, up to a certain age.  At some resorts, that age is as high as ten.  If you have a family, finding those resorts that allow kids to ski free can be a great way to save some serious cash.
  3. Fly-in/ski out deals.  This type of deal offers a flight directly to the airport nearest the resort, along with transportation from the airport to the lodge.  Some also offer free or low-cost shuttle services.  Research ski deal websites online carefully to see if they offer the transportation-inclusive package you are looking for at the resort you want.
  4. Stay longer.  If you go skiing a few times per year, why not instead take one long vacation?  Not only might it be more relaxing that way, but multi-day ski lift tickets offer the best value when purchased in advance.
  5. If you must go on the holidays ... go on Thanksgiving instead of Christmas.  Peak pricing typically begins the week before Christmas.  Some, but not all, resorts offer lower pricing during off-peak times.  Be sure to at least research your targeted destinations a little beforehand to see if they have this offer available.
  6. The teenager trick.  It’s pretty common for teenagers aged 13 to 17 to get a discount on their season passes, when compared with the cost of an adult season pass.  However, keep in mind that sometimes you get coupons in addition to the season passes you purchased.
  7. Use online deal websites like Us!  SkierDeals.com offers a myriad of lodging, restaurant, ski rental and ski lift ticket deals available from the resorts.  You can also search by geographical region for deals from specific resorts.

When you consider all of the possible ways to save money on your next ski vacation, you realize you have many options.  Next time you go searching for the best deal, you have extensive opportunity available for making it both fun and affordable.
