Diamond Peak Wants Your Help with their 50th Anniversary Celebration

Diamond Peak at Lake Tahoe is getting ready to celebrate their golden anniversary this winter and want you in on the action. Whether you’ve been riding the slopes at Diamond Peak since their inception in 1966, or you’re a new addition to the family, Diamond Peak wants you to help celebrate “50 years of skiing and snowboarding in the most beautiful setting on Earth.”

Way back in November of 1966 after just four months of construction, the brand new ski lifts at Incline Village opened, giving the community its first skier friendly resort. Twenty-one years later in 1987 an expansion doubled the size of the resort, added more advanced trails, and gave way to a name change, Diamond Peak.

To give Diamond Peak a celebration worthy of 50 years, the resort is asking for your help. They are looking for your stories, photos, and videos to showcase how Diamond Peak has changed over the years and what it has meant to you and the community.

The invitation on the Diamond Peak website invites  the entire Incline Village community as the extended Diamond Peak family around the world to help us commemorate this milestone.

Diamond Peak wants to hear your story if:
• You learned to ski/snowboard at the resort
• You are a long time rider at Diamond Peak
• You worked at the resort
• You are newer addition to the Diamond Peak family

They are also seeking out your mountain top fashions. Submit pictures of your skiing and snowboarding gear throughout the decades for their Fashion Show of 50 Years of Ski Outfit History.

The resort is even allowing community members to get involved in their planning efforts! You can join the 50th Anniversary Planning Committee to help plan the festivities.
