Idaho’s Brundage Mountain

More Than One Way to Cruise This Beast

Enjoying notoriety for having the best snow in Idaho, accumulating an average of 320 inches of powdery goodness at the base, annually, Brundage Mountain promises a thrill-filled ski getaway. The 46 named trails, including everything from tree-lined glades and spacious groomed runs, consist of 20% novice, 50% intermediate, and 30%advanced terrains, making Brundage the perfect location for all ski and ride skill levels.

If you seek more challenge than 1920 in-boundary skiable acres have to offer, lift-access will get you to 420 acres of backcountry terrain, and 18,000 acres are open, via guided snow-cat adventures, for the most experienced of skiers and riders. Always remember, skiing outside of bounds, although magnificent, requires, not only a high level of skill but the right equipment and specific hazard awareness. Brundage Mountain, knowing that many of their guests want to venture out into the spectacular backcountry, have installed a Backcountry Access Beacon Training Park, where you and your crew can practice beacon and transceiver use before heading out in search of the epic virgin powder. Although, Brundage offers plenty for adrenaline junkies within the boundaries.

Two terrain parks, Deadwood Shred Park and Bear Progression Park, are designed to get the most out of your freestyle experience. To get the dust off, or practice something new, the smaller jumps and rails at Bear will help you learn and progress. With greased joints and confidence in your style, head over to the high-profile Deadwood to show off what you have perfected. Designed to mimic a backcountry experience Deadwood is a thrill-seeker’s dream park. Brundage also has plenty to do when it is time to give your trick-weary legs a break.

Snowmobile tours are available in full and half day increments. Season pass holders receive a 10% discount on guided tours, and unguided rentals are also available for experienced snowmobile enthusiasts. Full and half day programs include full gear, jackets, pants, and helmet, as well as orientation and instruction. A picnic lunch, offered for full-day excursions, will be enjoyed with a fabulous backdrop, like Payette Lake or the Salmon Mountains.

Whatever activities get your heart racing, Brundage Mountain can supply it in spades.
