With access from Boise, Seattle and Portland, Brundage Mountain claims to have the “Best Snow in Idaho.” We don’t doubt that it does. Naturally, Idaho is low in population, and high on peace and quiet. And it also offers bustling prominent ski locations with one of the best ski schools in the nation.
Idaho Ski School
Brundage Mountain offers a VIP Beginner Learning Program, private lessons, lessons for adult, teens, youth ages 7-12 years, and even lessons for the very young, from 3-6 years old. The Kinder Bears class has an average class size of two. The program is staffed by fun-loving, kind and mindful ski instructors. Care is taken that children not only have fun, but learn the best techniques for their tender age to take up the sport of skiing, and to love it.
Brundage also offers daycare and ski play, so parents can hit the slopes. The daycare facility is licensed by the state, which minimizes concern about leaving kids in the staff’s care.
There are individual classes for teens, young adults and the more seasoned adult. Or, if you want one-on-one, whether new to the sport or experienced, but want to work on specific areas, you can get experienced, professional help here.
Uniquely, Brundage also offers adaptive lessons. In cooperation with the Adaptive Wilderness Sports of McCall (AWeSOMe!), a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people of all abilities through high quality outdoor experiences. Ski and snowboard lessons are available for people with disabilities on a one-on-one basis.Specially trained instructors are well versed in the adaptive techniques of 3-track, 4-track, mono-ski, bi-ski, guiding skiers with visual impairments, as well as teaching people with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
The base at Brundage Mountain is at 5,840 feet, and the summit at 7,640 feet. There are five lifts with 46 named trails and a 320-inch base average each year.
No matter your skill set, or your level of training, Brundage Mountain’s ski school offers top notch lessons and development. And, you don’t have to wait until you get there for arrangements, you can pre-register for a class or private lessons online, before you go. They’ll be waiting for you to hit the slopes, when you arrive.
