Bromley Mountain Is an Affordable Vermont Fav

East Coast skiers and winter lovers have been hopping up to Vermont for weekend getaways for very long time. Well-known for its incredible snowfall, Vermont offers a unique secluded atmosphere away from crowds and closer to surrounding nature. Such is true for such ski areas as Bromley Mountain, Stratton Mountain, and Magic Mountain. Depending on the weather, all three resorts are within a half-hour drive of each other, giving visitors the perfect excuse to try out several resorts in one visit. Seeped in wintertime fun, the area sees over 12 feet of snow a year (average), so plan accordingly with ice skating, sleigh rides, free skiing and boarding.

Bromley Mountain

At Bromley Mountain, the 178 acres of skiable terrain is backed up (you know, just in case) with nearly the entire mountain’s trails available with manmade snow. The mountain’s longest trail, Runaround, is 2.5 miles long and the mountain’s 1,334-foot vertical drop never fails experienced athletes. We recommend staying more than a few days, and heading up before the weekend starts. Families particularly should be aware of their many deals, like Family Fridays, where after adults purchase lift tickets at a midweek price ($49), each kid is only $15 (ages 6-17, limit three). Pretty great family discount! Worth missing school for, kids? We think so.

But in addition, while terrain parks are becoming more popular, Bromley has gone an extra step for the younger kids, giving them a terrain park to play and test their skills on away from the older kids and faster skiers.  Otherwise, the older kids (ok, and dad too) can spend hours upon hours on the other three parks that span the mountain side. With progressive parks, you can easily remain in an area that suites your ability level, and then work your way to the seven-acre terrapin park, The Garden. Check it out.
