Michigan Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month’s Skier Deals

Learning to ski and snowboard can require an investment in time, and in cash. During National Learn to Ski and Snowboard month in January, many ski resorts offer their best steal-of-a-deal packages for beginners. This year’s learn to ski and snowboard packages cover every part of the learning experience in the Midwest, and will save you time and cash.

The Michigan Ski Industry Association and McDonald’s restaurants have teamed up to offer lessons for the new snowboarder at 27 of the state’s ski areas through the Discover Michigan Skiing program. The program includes: a beginner-area ski lift ticket or cross-country trail pass, a lesson that covers basic skiing and riding skills, and rental equipment. At $35 for Discover Michigan Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding package, and $20 for Discover Michigan Cross-Country Skiing package, you won’t find a better deal. The program starts January 3rd this year, and runs through the end of the month.

Crystal Mountain is offering a smoking deal for a 1-hour ski or snowboard lesson with equipment rentals for just $20. . Learning takes place in the Burton Learn to Ride Center, a complete state-of-the-art facility that offers progressive and fun lessons taught by professional instructors. The lessons begin on January 12, is valid Monday through Thursday during the entire month, and only excludes the Martin Luther King Holiday on January 18.

This year in January, Crystal Mountain is also offering a Buy-One-Get-One Lift Ticket special for experienced skiers and riders. Buy one full day lift ticket for at the window, and receive a free full day lift ticket for a friend. Both lift tickets must be purchased for midweek Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday skiing and riding, and both lift tickets must be used on the same day. A bonus feature of the Bring a Friend package is for the price of a one-hour private lesson, you can add a friend to the lesson and receive a two-hour lesson for the both of you. This offer is not available for one person and excludes New Year’s weekend and Martin Luther King Holiday on January 18.

Learn to Ski and Snowboard packages are a cost effective, hassle-free way to learn what could become a lifelong snowsport. Be sure to plan ahead, because advanced registration is required for most packages, and spaces fill up fast.
