Idaho

An Idaho ski vacation offers 16,000 acres of downhill skiing and snowboarding at 17 resorts. Everything from beginners’ slopes to expert black diamond runs can be found here. In all, there are over 45 Nordic ski areas for cross-country and more than 7,200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

What Makes Idaho Unique?

There's more to Idaho than you think. Most people who live or visit Idaho comment on the beauty and exanding natural settings. Boise is often described as the up-and-coming city, comparable to Portland and Denver, with arts, dining, music, and culture. The state offers white-water rafting, hiking, fishing, wineries and breweries, boating, guided tours, natural hot springs, rock climbing, ice skating, snowmobiling, casinos, and let's not forget fantastic skiing.

Major Ski Resorts

Everyone knows Sun Valley, a landmark ski destination near Ketchum. From a base of 6,800 feet, the mountain rises 3,400 vertical feet. Ski down over three miles on runs and on any of the 75 ski trails. Sun Valley is an awesome place for winter sports and après ski. The area's lodging and accommodations include private home and condominium rentals, hotels in all price ranges, even the opportunity to experience a heated yurt.

Did you know that you can actually see Canada from some of the slopes in Idaho? Schweitzer Mountain offers incredible vistas, accessible only from its six-seat high-speed chairlift. See Canada and three other states from there and enjoy gourmet dining when you return from the slopes. Idaho is also home to Silver Mountain Resort, not far from Schweitzer. Planning a trip to Boise? Drive less than 20 miles to Bogus Basin and enjoy day ski trips, while staying in a big city. Read more about these ski areas, what they have to offer and the savings readily available for you and your family.
