Tuxedo Ridge Ski Vacation Guide

This is a small ski resort in New York where family fun is the priority. Known as "Your Family Mountain," a variety of ski vacation packages and deals for families make it affordable.

Ski Levels

With only 35 skiable acres, it makes up for the small size with efficient layout and planning, and an enthusiastic staff and company. Experienced and skill ski instructors who put an emphasis on safety and good form make it a great place to learn new skills and even start to ski or snowboard for the first time. Tuxedo Ridge wants to be your family ski and snowboarding vacation go-to spot, which is why they offer deals and innovative activities for kids and families like their snow playground for kids. The playground is located at the base of the snow tubing park. The Race Academy is available for kids and adults, and with memberships in the official racing organization members can participate in official races at Tuxedo Ridge. The ski school also boasts top quality ski and snowboarding instruction with the guarantee that you'll be on their chairlift with your first lesson, even if takes over an hour!

Tuxedo Ridge is the ideal place to ski if you're looking for a progressive management team who are working hard to improve the ski resort with things like a snow playground and terrain park. Designed for families, the several intermediate trails can still offer challenges to skiers just out to test the powder and their skills. It's a cozy and quaint ski lodge where you'll rarely find crowds to keep you in line instead of coming down the mountain.

Après Ski

Dining at Tuxedo Ridge can involve American fare at the lodge with cafeteria-style dining. A pub is available with typical pub fare like grilled food and sandwiches. Shopping at Tuxedo Ridge includes the typical small shops, sporting good shops and groceries, as well as Sterling Forest souvenirs. Being so close to New Jersey, sightseeing options are not just limited to the mountain area, but include New Jersey attractions and sights. Nightlife at Tuxedo Ridge can include a picnic in their warming tent or après ski at the lodge pub. You can enjoy a variety of drinks or a hot beverage, and snacks and a variety of dinner-time far is available at the lodge dining room.

Tuxedo Ridge Snowboard Vacation Guide

Rider’s Guide

The 7 trails and 35 skiable acres at Tuxedo Ridge have many areas designed for the intermediate skier, but trails for beginners and advanced skiers, as well. The Bunny Slope is a great learning slope at just 650 feet, and The Bowl, the signature slope, is a wide path that runs 1,200 feet. The longest run is the Tiger Pass at 2,750 feet that takes you right down to the base lodge with some advanced sloping, especially in the lower trail. A racing hill is great for training racers, and the Rainbow Trail for tubing offers the length of two football fields of fun with a snow playground at the base.

Parks and Pipes

A new terrain park at Tuxedo Ridge includes their Lynx and Alley Cat trails. The Lynx has 3 10-foot jumps into a 35-foot flat box, and the Alley Cat features 2 20-foot tabletops, a corrugated pipe butter box and 3 other boxes, ideal for new and intermediate snowboarders. A half-pipe also offers challenges. With 2 difficult trails and 2 intermediate trails, beginners should stick to the bunny slope and the more beginner areas in the terrain park.

Out of Bounds

The Rainbow Trail offers snow tubing that ends at a snow playground that allows kids up to 12 years old to enjoy the snow, slides, tunnels and other fun and active-play features. A Ladies Clinic and Master Race Training are new offerings this year at Tuxedo Ridge. And the ski school offers something for everyone, of every age, with special packages for families.

Hangout & Hookup

There’s a pub that’s a great place for après-ski gatherings with pub food and a fully stocked bar. The lodge is also a great place to gather after a day skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
