A haven for skiers seeking a serious, bare bone mountain resort that provides amazing trails, breathtaking scenery, and well-maintained challenging slopes.

Ski Levels

Located in the heart of the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont, Magic Mountain proudly provides a no-frills, high-quality skiing experience. It's 40 runs are evenly distributed between beginner, intermediate, and expert and spread out over 135 acres of skiable land. The summit elevation is 2,850 feet, and skiers enjoy a vertical drop of over 1,700 feet. The terrain is often described as amazing, terrific, and killer by locals and with short lift lines, it’s easy to get in a lot of runs in a short amount of time. Their longest trail, the Wizard, spans over 1.6 miles and makes for a challenging and satisfying run.

Après Ski

The Inn at Magic Lodge provides skiers with the relaxation and modern amenities that are a luxury after a long day of skiing. The Loose Moose Tavern is located in the building and offers delightful après-ski activities, drinks and delicious meals. The Goniff’s Den, located on the second floor of the base lodge, has live music, a full menu and an impressive array of local and seasonal beers. There are also lodging options to choose from in the nearby town of Londonderry, including historic inns, cozy cottages and large family friendly hotels, not to mention a variety of dining and drinking options.

Rider’s Guide

Snowboarders who are looking for a wide assortment of trails to test their abilities should look to Magic Mountain in Vermont. Magic Mountain provides a variety of beautiful runs, with 37% of the 40 runs dedicated to black diamonds and double black diamonds, 30% rated for beginners and 37% for intermediates. The resort is not very well-known in the snowboarding scene, so boarders can look forward to short lift lines and ample space to carve.

Parks and Pipes

Magic Mountain is currently focusing their energies on renovations to their regular trails and runs, but they are also working hard to improve their Hocus Pokus Terrain Park that comes complete with jibs, rails and big jumps.

Out of Bounds

There are plenty of other activities at Magic Mountain such as snow tubing, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing, but with the sheer quality of the runs at Magic Mountain it’s doubtful you’ll want to take a break from boarding.

Hangout & Hookup

Magic Mountain features two different pubs, each offering a unique après-ski environment. Goniff’s Den is the livelier of the two, featuring live entertainment, local bands and a carefree atmosphere. The Loose Moose Tavern at the Inn at Magic Lodge offers a sumptuous dinner menu and a relaxing, inviting environment. The nearby towns of Londonderry and Manchester also possess an eclectic mix of eateries, bars and pubs to suit anyone’s tastes. The Inn at Magic Lodge provides slope side lodging, but the nearby towns offer a variety of accommodation to suit any boarder’s budget.

Magic Mountain is easily accessible. By plane, it is conveniently located near Albany’s International Airport and not far from Hartford, CT and Boston, MA. By car it’s only 25 minutes from Manchester, Vermont, right off of RT-11.
