Ski Experience – Manning Park Resort

Manning Park Resort is a charming ski resort within a provincial reserve of the same name, it’s a bit deceptive because such a charming place leads one to thinking it’s going to be a mediocre mountain. However, nothing could be farther from the truth! Located less than a three-hour drive east of beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, this Cascade Mountains alpine wonderland offers affordable family skiing and some of the best powder in the ski haven that is British Columbia. Guests will race effortlessly down Manning Park’s slopes and feel as though they are floating on clouds.

Manning Park Resort makes for an awesome ski vacation destination. The mountain’s base is higher than the summit’s of other resorts near Vancouver. The higher altitude helps make the outrageously dry powder that Manning Park is famous for having every season. The resort is actually comprised of three peaks, and there are designated areas for a terrain park, tubing park, beginner area, and even a Snowfun area, each area ensuring that people are able to enjoy the mountain without getting in each others way.

Visitors to Manning Park will greatly benefit from the quality, certified ski instructors on the mountain. Beginners will be able to pick up skiing and snowboarding faster and safer with lessons from these exceptional guides. Intermediate and advanced skiers will also enjoy receiving pointers that improve their techniques. The instructors even offer Telemark lessons. Yet another reason why Manning Park is such a great family ski vacation destination!

The elevation of Manning Park works to its advantage in two ways. It is high enough to receive fresh powder dry snow, but it is also low enough to miss some of the more extreme weather, which makes for some outstandingly ideal ski weather.

Manning Park has a little bit of everything necessary for a successful ski and snowboard vacation. From rentals and instructions to restaurants and a pub, there’s even an outdoor ice skating and hockey rink. Guests of the resort may also indulge in the indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub. After a day on the slopes, a relaxing soak can really hit the spot. Couples will find the resort romantic, families will discover a wealth of activities they can do together and groups of friends will have a blast skiing during the day and relaxing together at night. Between the slopes, the lodge and village, visitors will find themselves quite content and wholly satisfied.

They say a lot can be said about a place if the locals frequent it. Canadians in the Vancouver area don’t at all mind taking the drive out to Manning Park.
