Ski Troll Mountain, British Columbia

Troll Mountain is designed for families so the vast majority of activities are child-friendly. The slopes are groomed and there are several trails designed specifically for beginners and children to learn on, the great ski school equips first-timers with the confidence and skills necessary to conquer harder terrain. Some of the features in the terrain park are perfect for smaller kids and those who are just learning how to ski and ride park. Other winter activities like dog sledding and snowmobiling are fantastic for groups and families.

Nightlife at Troll Mountain is laidback and easy going as opposed to high energy. Guests can enjoy a relaxing après ski drink or hot chocolate in the lodge, but if guests seek more active après ski entertainment they might want to venture outside of the resort to find more bustling pubs and taverns. Troll Mountain is very family oriented and the majority of the nightlife is centered around wholesome family fun.

Troll Mountain is a great place for families to go skiing. There are simply beautiful views of the south slopes, there’s a rustic lodge with a fireplace as well as delicious home-cooked food. Riders Guide – The peak elevation of the mountain is 5,000 feet and the base elevation is just over 3,300 feet. Troll enjoys a snowfall of 6 to 7 feet per year on average and 240 acres of skiable land to enjoy. Troll Mountain is a great place for riders of all ability levels. There are 16 trails with 40% designed for the intermediate rider. About 33% of them are marked for beginners and 27% are advanced. However, there are no double black diamond expert trails at Troll. The majority of the slopes are south facing and enjoy sunshine and fantastic views of the area.




Parks and Pipes – Troll Mountain has two terrain parks. One is a mini park at the base of the mountain which is a good place for beginners to learn and for the more experienced riders to practice and warm up for the more advanced park. The bigger terrain park can be found at the top of the red lift. This park has big boxes and rails and has a full kilometer of jumps so experienced riders can catch some serious air. They are constantly working to improve the two terrain parks and many new features pop up each season.




Out of Bounds – Troll Resort is a thoroughly pastoral getaway in the mountains so guests can expect the full rustic treatment while they’re there. It’s mellow, relaxing and there is even a beautiful fireplace to sit down in front of and warm up after a long day on the slopes. Snowmobiling is a very popular activity at Troll Resort as is dogsledding. Both of these activities are tons of fun and perfect for groups and families of all ages.




Hangout & Hookup – The main lodge has a huge fireplace which is the perfect place for an après ski hot chocolate or refreshing beverage. After the slopes have closed for the night, this family-friendly lodge has many activities designed especially with children in mind and entertainment abounds throughout the season. For more active nightlife guests would do well to head outside of the resort to one of the area’s pubs or bars.




The Deal – Troll Mountain is easy to get it because it’s on paved Highway 26. Coming from Prince George it’s less than a two hour drive. From Highway 97 follow the McLean Road shortcut to Highway 26.
