Having undergone many extensive renovations and ambitious new building plans, Snowbasin has transformed from a once sleepy and modest resort into a state-of-the art winter paradise.
The mountain boasts more than 100 trails spread over 3,000+ acres for all experience levels, 20 percent beginner, 50 percent intermediate, and 30 percent advanced and expert. With an average season beginning in mid-November that usually lasts well into April, guests will have ample time to enjoy the more than 400 inches of snow the resort receives annually. The resort’s gems are two of the most spine-tingling steeps in the entire world, used as racecourses in the Olympics these two runs provide thrills for the most experienced skier. However, the resort offers plenty of slower paced skiing and cruiser runs, including 26km of groomed Nordic trails.
World-class skiing isn’t the only activity offered. The resort has an impressive array of ski and snowboard lessons taught by over 100 PSIA / AACI certified instructors as well as a bevy of adaptive programs sponsored in part by the Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation. Visitors will be pleased to find state-certified child-care services, medical care, full-service retail and rental shops, a stunning brown bag picnic area, and much more.
There are three day lodges for guests to enjoy, several places to dine and innumerable cozy nooks to kick your feet up and relax. The resort also has a great snowtubing area that is perfect for anyone who is looking for a leisurely, yet exhilarating, ride down the mountain. The resort is extremely kid-friendly and even offers a terrain park especially for them, so that they can learn to master tricks safely.

This ski area is replete with powdery bowls, steep chutes, groomed cruisers, and three terrain parks, Snowbasin is guaranteed to have something to suit everyone. Over 100 runs are spread out over more than 3,000 acres and across 3,000+ vertical feet, which means that Snowbasin boasts long cruiser runs as well as terrifyingly steep shoots, whatever the style or ability Snowbasin has the perfect run.
The rail arsenal has grown to over 60 rails expansion will continue. The mountain crew is always building new features, many of them from recycled materials. Set-up for an easy progression, there are multiple parks that start small and end large. The progressive new terrain park system incorporates lessons for those wanting to learn to ride park. There is also a wicked 18’ superpipe and a terrain park specifically designed for little riders.
There’s plenty to do once off the pristine runs. There is a six-lane tubing park and 26km of cross-country terrain at the resort. In and around the area there’s ice fishing, snowmobile tours, museums, and a dinosaur park filled with more than 100 scary dinosaur sculptures.
The resort has a few restaurants, pubs and a brown bag area perfect for carrying in your own picnic. The nearest town to the resort is Ogden, Utah which houses some great bars. Head to the Tona Sushi Bar and Grill for some of the most critically acclaimed dining in the area or Kamikazes, a dark and dank punk bar that used to be an old church, it has unbeatable drink specials and some of the best people watching in Utah. There is also plentiful nightlife at nearby Park City and Salt Lake City.
