Beginners and families who are more worried about easy runs and beautiful landscapes are going to fall in love with this ski area. This is the beauty of Mt. Shasta Ski Area—anyone, regardless of their age or experience level, can enjoy their stay.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park is easily one of the largest and most beautiful mountains in the country. The ski area features 425 acres of skiable land, providing plenty of options for ski runs and cross-country skiing. The 32 trails are distributed for all to enjoy including 20 percent for beginners, 55 percent for intermediates, and 25 percent for advanced skiers. Mt. Shasta Ski Area boasts nearly 300 acres of snowmaking capabilities, making this a prime location, even during less-than-stellar weather conditions. And use 14 trails and 3 lifts at night on select days and times.
The mountain itself provides a variety of dining options, including the Black Diamond Grill and the Powder Hound Grill. Or get some pizza at BC’s, also located right on the mountain. Both the Black Diamond Grill and Sliders Bar provide the perfect après ski drinks and entertainment. The nearby towns of Weed and Dunsmuir have great breweries to enjoy as well.
The park has a large snowboarding area, providing you with over 425 acres of sweet land. There are 32 different trails available and the mountain has night skiing on over 14 trails and nearly 300 acres of snow-making for those less-than-stellar parts of the season. Four lifts carry a capacity of over 6,000 riders per hour.
Revolution is the terrain park for the area, an incredible park that features various obstacles, rails, and pipes. Revolution has some pretty unique features, which include the “Mini Battleship,” the “Wave Box,” “The Battleship,” and “The Dragon,” and a super half-pipe that is over 300-feet long.
While the park focuses on skiing and snowboarding, there are plenty of other things to do in the surrounding town. The area offers everything from ice fishing and ice skating to snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and cross-country skiing.
On the mountain, go to Coyote Grill and BC’s Pizza. Those who are looking for the perfect mix of food and après ski will find it at both Sliders Bar and the Black Diamond Grill.
