Idaho Springs is just minutes away from top Colorado ski resorts. The closest is Echo Mountain, only about 4 miles away, but even the world-class skiing in Summit County at places like Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone are less than 40 miles away. SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch, Aspen Snowmass, Vail and Beaver Creek are only a little farther. So top skiing and snowboarding action are barely a hop, skip and jump (or jib!) from the small tourist town of Idaho Springs.

Parks and Pipes

With Echo Mountain just five minutes away, snowboarders can have everything in Idaho Springs. Echo Mountain was originally just a terrain park and has only expanded to ski runs in the last couple of years. But much of the skiable acreage is still dedicated to terrain parks. The Treeline Terrain Park at Arapahoe Basin gets its name from being above the treeline, as the highest North American terrain park. Don’t miss the features of the two terrain parks here and the amazing quarter pipes, half pipes, and superpipes spread out among the many terrain parks in the Idaho Springs area resorts.
