Crested Butte

Situated due south of Aspen, Crested Butte has a reputation of being a fun ski town and a mountain with less crowds and lines.

Less Crowds—More for You

With a lift capacity of 18,160 people per hour, 85 trails, and a 3,062-foot vertical drop, there's plenty of elbow room on the mountain. There's a broad mix of terrain for every ability of skier and rider, including a groomed half pipe, terrain park, and even 448 acres of double black diamond, ungroomed "extreme limits" terrain—for the adventurous at heart. And for those who like the backcountry, the renowned Irwin Lodge offers guided snowcat skiing and riding trips, just 12 miles from town. Off the Slopes

Whether you prefer to stay in town or on the mountain, there's plenty of variety—from historic B&Bs to well-appointed condominiums—there's a style to suit every taste and budget. There is a free shuttle for your transportation around town to help you get to your lodging or to drop you off in town for shopping, art gallery viewing, and dining. To help you choose accommodations, take a look at the discount listings we've gathered.

Getting Here

Getting here by air has never been easier. Non-stop service on major carriers is available from many major airports direct to the Gunnison International Airport. A 30-minute scenic shuttle ride delivers you to the heart of town, where the community's free shuttle service makes a rental car unnecessary. So, if you're looking for a fun, relaxed vacation, whatever the season, consider the "Colorado's Last Great Ski Town."
