Ski Experience - Granby Ranch

Granby Ranch (formerly known as SolVista Basin) is only 15 minutes away from another top ski resort, Winter Park. This makes the area an ideal place for skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, and enjoying all sorts of winter sports.

Ski Levels

The 33 trails feature runs for beginners and even areas set aside from brand new skiers, as well as runs for advanced skiers, with the top run stretching almost 2.5 miles. The East Mountain is designated for new to the sport and intermediate level skiers and the West Mountain is reserved for more advanced skiers. New skiers or those wanting to improve can enroll in the ski school. Rentals are available for skiers, snowboarders, snowshoes, and cross-country skiers so all can enjoy the mountain.

Après Ski

Near the Rocky Mountain National Park, families will enjoy in this area tremendously. Denver is less than two hours away and nearby small mountain towns are host to shopping and fine dining. The area offers a huge variety of dining from steak and seafood to pizza. You'll find a homey bar and grill serving up the typical fare and a grill offering Mediterranean. The many retail shops will help you with gear and ski rentals, and you'll find plenty of local souvenir shops as well. A great place for après ski is the fire pit at the base of the mountain. It's a family atmosphere with cocoa and a sense of community, while Seven Trails offers drinks, cocktails, and other treats. The Coffee Station provides quick breakfast items and muffins as well as your caffeine kick.

In addition, the Rocky Mountain National Park is often closed to traffic from this side of the pass, but is still not a far drive. Kids can become Junior Rangers and experience a variety of activities. A Children's Center at the Base Camp is also a great place for kids who love snow sports and the mountain atmosphere. Granby Ranch is a great place for families and anyone who wants to enjoy skiing and snowboarding in a low-pressure, easygoing atmosphere.
