Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a great place to experience the pristine and much sought after British Columbian champagne powder. In the center of the resort there is a Grizzly Bear Refuge. It's 22 acres of protected and enclosed terrain where two orphaned grizzly cubs make their home. The opportunity to ski alongside a grizzly bear refuge is a one-of-a-kind experience and really makes Kicking Horse stand out from the plethora of other British Columbian ski resorts. For skiers and riders who want to experience the pristine champagne powder of British Columbia, Kicking Horse Mountain is easy to get to, affordable and a resort surrounded by fun activities, cultural experiences and some of the most stunning scenery in British Columbia.

Off the Slopes

Lodging in the area can be found at the mountain or in nearby ski chalets, condominiums, rental homes or villas. There are also standard hotels and motels available and a few bed and breakfast for a more quaint and homey feel. Golden is well equipped to handle a large volume of visitors each season who flock to the area for skiing, snowboarding and other snow sport enthusiasts. 

Geting Here

Kicking Horse resort is about 8 miles away from the town of Golden. The resort's about 425 miles away from Vancouver. It's a less than a three-hour drive from Calgary on Trans Canada Highway 1 going west. Simply stay on the highway until the town of Golden, from there, there will be signage directing visitors to the resort.
