Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain is close to Vancouver and the city is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Enveloped by lush green hills, soaring snow-capped mountains and beautifully bordered by the sea, Vancouver is a stunning place.

Skiing Close to Major City

Containing the best of both worlds, Vancouver’s thriving urban center is very close to the beautiful Canadian wilderness. Additionally, the progressive transportation system in the city can have visitors up to Grouse Mountain in hardly any time at all. That huge iconic mountain towering over Vancouver is Grouse and its only 15 minutes away. There are 26 trails in total, three are rated green, 15 blue, six black diamond runs, and two double black diamond runs. The mountain is also open for night riding and guests will delight at the opportunity to watch Vancouver’s sparkly night lights as they speed down the mountain. The mountain’s summit is 4,100 feet above sea level and the drop nearly 1,300 feet in vertical. As an added bonus, a lift ticket includes transportation to the resort via Vancouver's Skyride!

Grouse Mountain boasts outstanding trails for all levels of abilities, a professional ski patrol as well as volunteer patrol members, and a staff of expert instructors that instruct all skill levels, from first timers to seasoned experts who want to hone a specific skill. The resort houses fast, state of the art lifts that can accommodate Grouse’s large number of visitors. The terrain park is expert-designed and constantly being remodeled and improved in order to maximize guest’s experience. Grouse even has night skiing on half of its trails to boot! Just imagine it, gliding over the glistening white slopes under a blanket of stars, looking down on the lights of beautiful Vancouver. Grouse Mountain is a unique experience for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. The stunning mountain overlooks a simply beautiful city. It may just be the most beautiful place to ski and the most convenient ski resort in North America.

Off the Slopes

After skiing and riding, Vancouver's hip nightlife awaits you! Vancouver is truly an amazing city; it has gorgeous architecture, excellent cultural centers and restaurants and accommodations to suit all imaginable tastes. You'll find everything from hip coffeehouses to trendy and posh nightclubs. There is an extensive amount of restaurants featuring local and international cuisine. Vancouver welcomes everyone, but the young at heart are in for an especially roaring good time! With the lower altitude and close proximity to the ocean, Vancouver and Grouse Mountain maintain a mild winter climate most of the time. You'll still need to dress in layers and will want a light breathable waterproof outer shell, a hat that covers your ears and goggles.

Getting Here

Getting to Grouse Mountain couldn't be easier. Take the Seabus across to Lonsdale Quay, and then catch Bus 236 right on up to the mountain! Or if you're driving, Lion's Gate bridge to North Vancouver's Marine Drive, then left (north) up Capilano Road just over 3 miles, and you're there! Vancouver International Airport is huge and serviced by all major airlines, so getting to the city is easy and affordable.
