This mountain, while being less than 10 miles from Jackson Hole Resort, couldn’t be more different from its neighbor. While Jackson Hole gets overwhelmed with tourists, Snow King remains low key and largely under the radar. Even though Jackson Hole boasts more impressive mountain stats, the relatively modest numbers here should not be confused for mild terrain. Snow King has plenty of challenging chutes and exhilarating steeps. It is a local’s favorite and its modesty is a refreshing change from other resort areas.
The resort houses a rare and special group of PSIA / AASI certified instructors who are dedicated to teaching not only the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding, but truly want to foster a deep and lasting love of the mountain and of the art of skiing and riding. There are group and private lessons available for children aged four and up, as well as for adults. There is a women’s only ski program. The resort spreads out over 400 acres, and 1,500 feet of vertical. There are more than 30 named trails suitable for a variety of ability levels. Nearly 15 percent of the terrain has been rated for beginners, 25 percent for intermediate levels, and the remaining 60 percent is reserved for advanced and expert skiers.The mountain has a near-perfect fall-line and is largely considered a racer's mountain. In fact, it’s consistently favored with both National & International Ski Teams. The area has more than 100 acres open for night skiing, accessible by two separate lifts. There is also an extensive snow making system covering nearly 50 percent of groomed runs at the resort.

With its 1,500 vertical feet of skiing and near perfect fall lines, racers and speed demons love the runs here. There are a fair amount of spine-tingling steeps and chutes, and nearly 60 percent of the terrain is marked for the advanced skier or snowboarder. Beginners and intermediate skiers will do ok, but be knowledgeable of what level of snowboarding you can handle before you try to tackle this mountain. There are over 30 named trails and due to its size, this is the mountain the locals love. There are also terrain parks, a halfpipe, and night skiing on 100+ acres.
The mid-mountain park located below the Old Man Flats ski run, has an impressive series of medium and small jumps, rails, walls, and other natural and manmade features. The lower mountain, "mini park" is located at the base of Snow King Mountain. The park consists of numerous rails and smaller sized jumps and features. The park is also home to the Wednesday Night Rail Jam Series.
In addition to great riding, there are loads of fantastic activities at the door step of this mountain. Guests can choose from sleigh rides through a national elk refuge, ice hockey games, sled dog tours, backcountry ski / snowboard tours, heli-skiing / snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more. In the town of Jackson, guests can visit the National Museum for Wildlife Art, the Center for the Arts, and the local theatre.
