Snowshoe Mountain Resort

Snowshoe Mountain Resort has been providing providing wintertime skiing and snowboarding fun for vacationers and families for well over 35 years. With brand-new rental equipment, many budget dining options and a new commitment to skier safety, Snowshoe Mountain is perfect for adventure and family fun.

Over 11,000 Surrounding Acres

An average 180 inches of snow falls on Snowshoe Mountain annually, but snowmaking covers 100% of the 60 slopes and trails. There are 14 lifts, including two magic carpet lifts for kids and beginners, two handle tows, and three high-speed quads. The lifts offer over 23,000 per hour lift capacity on the mountain with its 1,500-foot vertical drop. The longest of the 60 trails is 1.5 miles long. Snowshoe Mountain is perfect for families because of the 41 percent of the trails that are designed for beginners and have an easier rating than the rest. About 36 percent are intermediate and 23 percent of the trails are for advanced skiers.

Snowcat tours, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, snow tubing, sleigh rides and equestrian adventures are popular winter activities at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. There's also cross-country skiing available to give you even more winter enjoyment. A variety of activities like races, competitions and special snow activities for kids make Snowshoe Mountain Resort a great place for kids of any age, and skiers of all skill levels.

Off the Slopes

Lodging at Snowshoe Mountain can be convenient ski-in/ski-out accommodations at the Mountain Inn at the base, or at the north or south mountains. There are backcountry huts available, quality condominiums in the Village and at the base of the north and south mountains. Private homes for rent are a popular option at Snowshoe, with many budget and luxury options available. Townhomes and resort condos are high luxury and elegant options for large families or small families that want extra space and high class accommodations.

Getting Here

Getting to Snowshoe Mountain Resort from virtually every direction involves mostly Interstate travel which makes it easy, as the roads are kept clear even during foul weather. US 219 takes you to snowshoe, with Interstates and then state routes leading to 219. Flying into Virginia Beach, Richmond or Greensboro area ideal with cab services or rental cars then taken from there to Snowshoe Mountain.
