Canaan Valley

Located in Davis, Canaan Valley Resort features the pure beauty, excitement, and enjoyment that you would expect from a premiere ski resort.

Popular West Virginia Ski Mountain

Recognized as one of the most beautiful and popular mountains in the state (not to mention the largest mountain valley east of the Rockies), Canaan Valley provides plenty of fresh powder and well-groomed trails for the ultimate ski experience. Canaan Valley Resort & Conference Center features 91 acres of skiable land and a terrain park, providing skiers of all ages and ability levels with an array of trails. The 39 trails are evenly distributed in terms of difficulty, with 30 percent rated for beginners, 40 percent rated for intermediates, and 30 percent rated for expert and advanced skiers. The mountain features three different lifts that take riders up the 850 feet of vertical rise at the resort.

In addition to great skiing the resort also offers tubing, airboarding, ice skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There are also a variety of indoor activities such as an indoor pool, arcade, Kidz Korner and on-site spa and massage.

Off the Slopes

The Canaan Valley region houses plenty of lodging perfect for individuals, families or large groups. Canaan Valley Resort State Park features 150 lodge rooms, 23 cabins & cottage rentals, plus campground with full hookups. Dining options on the mountain include: Bear Paw Food Court and Quenchers Pub & Grill. Addition resort dining options include the Hickory Dining Room and Caffe Siena, both located at the Main Lodge.

Davis has lodging options to fit any budget, including inns, lodges, hotels, motels, cabins, private home rentals, and four season resorts as well as casual and upscale dining. The surrounding area is also rich in Civil War history, for those history buffs.

Canaan Valley is located on over 6,000 acres of State Park land in the million acre Monongahela National Forest. For snow lovers, nature lovers, and American history lovers alike, this is a fantastic ski area that offers modern amenities, superior skiing and snowboarding, and budget friendly options for individuals, couples, families, and large groups. Its proximity to major cities makes it convenient and ideal for a fun, snow-filled getaway.

Getting Here

Getting to Canaan Valley is easy, the nearest airport, the Elkins-Randolph County Airport, is approximately 40 miles away but it also accessible from major airports. Canaan Valley is roughly 170 miles away from Washington Dulles International Airport. By car, the resort is a 3 hour drive from both Pittsburgh and Washington DC and located directly off of Rt. 32 in Canaan Valley. The resort offers free shuttle service from the Main Lodge to the ski area during ski season.
