Rider's Guide

This beautiful and family friendly resort is located near Banner Elk, North Carolina has long been a family favorite. The resort has 20 slopes in total, and 15 are lit for night skiing and riding each night of the week. There are more than 1,000 feet of vertical and 115 acres to explore. In fact it’s North Carolina’s biggest ski resort. There is even a double black diamond run, perfect for thrill seekers and advanced riders. The longest run is almost 1.5 miles long and a great cruiser run.

Parks and Pipes

Sugar’s terrain park has many great features and is serviced by a handle tow lift. The terrain park contains jumps, hits, ramps, banks, jibs, rails, quarter pipe, and other constructed or natural terrain features. They are constantly at work improving and evolving the park. The great variety of features makes it suitable for various skill level riders and freestyle skiers to enjoy.

Out of Bounds

The nearby town of Banner Elk has great shopping and dining options. There is also ice skating, snow tubing, snowshoeing, and other fun activities for the entire family. For families and beginners, we recommend taking advantage of the ski and snowboard school that has customized lessons for children, adults, first-timers, and more advanced riders.

Hangout & Hookup 

There are plenty of tasty restaurants in the area to enjoy international cuisine and a relaxing après ski drink. The Last Run Lounge is located on the mountain and has an impressive array of beer, wine, and spirits. The bar has a beautiful view of the mountainside and a lovely fireplace perfect for warming up after a day on the slopes.
