Terrain Parks - Beech Mountain

Rider's Guide

The combination of warm southern hospitality, frosty alpine landscapes, luxurious facilities and premiere Eastern skiing and snowboarding are just a few elements of what make Beech Mountain a fantastic resort. The base of the village is at 4,675 feet in elevation, the summit’s 5,506 feet, which makes 830 feet of vertical for riders to race down. The 10 lifts can accommodate nearly 10,000 visitors each hour. On the mountain there are 15 trails which span the 95 acres of the resort. The trails are divided amongst all ability levels, there are 2 for beginners, 7 for intermediates, 4 for advanced and 2 exclusively for freestyle skiing and boarding. The resort normally receives well over 100 inches of snow each year, but also has top-of-the-line snowmaking machines which cover 100% of the terrain.

Parks and Pipes

Beech Mountain also proudly boasts the region’s premier half-pipe and terrain park, which opened at Beech Mountain Resort in 2008, as well as Meadows Park, which is dedicated solely to beginning snowboarders. The parks both include a fantastic series of natural and manmade terrain, which including several half-pipes, grind rails of varying sizes, and a host of jumps ranging from small to massive. Likewise, Beech Mountain wants snowboarders to know that they are warmly welcomed to the resort and encouraged to ride all of the mountain’s runs.

Out of Bounds

Aside from premiere alpine skiing during the day and night, the area also has an enormous tubing park (also open at night), large outdoor ice skating rink, sledding, and an indoor pool.
