Ski Experience - Catamount 

The Catamount Ski Area is located on the Massachusetts and New York state line near South Egremont, Massachusetts. Catamount is one of the oldest operating ski areas in the Northeast and has been loved by families for generations, since 1939. It has a welcoming atmosphere, it is convenient to visit and takes an extensive amount of pride in offering great deals and discounts making a vacation to Catamount thoroughly affordable and gratifying.

Ski Levels

The area has more than 30 skiable runs and over 119 acres to explore. The ski area covers more than 1,000 vertical feet and features the longest run in the Berkshires. 40 percent of terrain is suitable for children and beginners, 27 percent is ideal for intermediate and 33 percent is for expert and advanced skiers. There are three terrain parks, a halfpipe, night skiing on more than a dozen trails and snowmaking on 99% of the terrain.

There is an absolute wealth of lessons and packages available for everyone from first-timers to advanced skiers and riders looking to learn a new skill or two. There are first-time lessons, catered to newbies, class lessons, private lessons, kid-only programs, adaptive programs, and great package deals for all skill levels. The instructors are courteous, friendly and professional and have years and years of experience teaching all variety of people, they are adaptive, encouraging and really make the lessons as fun and exciting as possible.

There is no shortage of options when staying in the Catamount area, from mountainside lodging to town or down valley accommodations. Choose a beautiful and historic New England inn, a cozy B&B, a hotel, motel or vacation rental home. There are great ski and stay packages available every season that help save visitors even more money. Guests are encouraged to make plans for weekends filled with skiing and riding, dining, live music, theatre, spa services and more. There are great outdoor activities available as well, such as sleigh rides, ice skating, cross country and snowshoeing, just to name a few.
