Gore Mountain

If you're after prime skiing and snowboarding in the Adirondacks of New York state, then Gore Mountain ski area and the surrounding region is an ideal setting. Ski Gore and Whiteface

In all, there are 11 lifts, and a longest ski run is just less than three miles long! Recently, Gore Mountain opened up the eight-passenger Northwood’s enclosed gondola. Also there is the high-speed quad servicing six new trails on Burnt Ridge Mountain! Enjoy the ride as it whisks you to the lofty peaks! Whiteface Mountain is just up the road as well, with the greatest vertical drop this side of the Rockies! Gore Mountain truly is a wonderland, an ideal New York winter vacation destination. They have so many activities right there on the mountain. The mountain always has snow, but just in case. snowmaking ability covers 95 percent of the ski trails, made from water drawn right from the Hudson River. There are just enough beginner trails. The majority of the slopes are intermediate, and 30 percent are black diamond runs for the expert and advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Off the Slopes 

There are two lodges on the mountain. The main Base Lodge offers dining, a rental shop, accessories and clothing, a nursery, ticketing, and the Snow Sports School. Saddle Lodge is located halfway up the mountain's 2,100 feet of vertical, and offers food and restrooms, so you won't have to leave the high alpine all day. The terrain park and its half-pipe with excellent pipes and rails will appeal to the aerial junkies, skiers and snowboarders alike.

Getting Here

The mountain is typically open from mid-November through mid-April, from 8:30am until 4pm. By car, take the NYS Thruway to Exit 24. Take I-87 (the Northway) to Exit 23 (Warrensburg). Follow Route 9 for four miles to Route 28 and proceed 16 miles to 793 Peaceful Valley Road.
