Ski Experience - Red River

The Red River Ski Area is located right in the middle of the town of Red River, making it very easy for you to access the lift chairs and the trails simply by walking or taking a shuttle. Nicknamed the "Ski Town of the Southwest," the area has the small town feel and a family-friendly atmosphere. The resort offers a ski and stay package, saving you a lot of money if you stay in one of the area lodgings offered.

Ski Levels

The base elevation of the ski area is 8,750 feet, while the top elevation 10,350 leading to a total vertical drop of 1,600 feet. There are four double chair lifts, two triple chair lifts, and a surface tow leading to the tops of the mountain's 57 trails. All skill levels of skiers are invited to have a good time on the slopes, with a nearly equal split between challenge levels—32 percent beginner trails, 38 percent intermediate trails, and 30 percent expert trails. The average annual snowfall at the is 218 inches, and the resort can produce man-made snow if needed on almost all of the trails.

Après Ski

One of the best reasons to go to the Red River Ski Area is convenience. About 90 percent of the lodging options are within easy walking distance of the ski area, as well as the shopping, dining, and other outdoor activities offered.
