A great family-friendly resort with a nationally renowned ski school perfect for kids and new skiers, as well as more advanced skiers who want to learn some new skills. The resort features 57 trails that split fairly evenly among skill levels. There's 75 percent snowmaking, so there's always fresh powder and there are plenty of lifts so you won't have to wait in line.

Parks and Pipes

After you've learn all you can learn from Pot O Gold Terrain Park, located on Gold Rush Hill, head over to Bobcat Terrain Park, located on Bobcat Run. When you are advanced enough it's time for Hollywood, where your tricks can be seen from the Platinum Chair.

Out of Bounds

This resort area is known for its snowmobiling tours. A tour guide offers day time snowmobiling trips that can run over 50 miles of trails that are well groomed and fresh. For someone who wants a bit more adventure, you can be led on a snowmobile tour to the top of Greenie Peak, which has an elevation of over 11,000 feet. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are also popular in their own special area, known as the Enchanted Forest Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Area. This is located on the top of Bobcat Pass, and features about two dozen miles of groomed trails and a variety of terrain. If you're traveling with a pet, your pooch can even go on your snowshoe trip in certain areas.

Hangout & Hookup

There are opportunities for nightlife and après ski, both at the resort itself and in the nearby area. From fine wines to locally famous drinks and draft beers, you can enjoy a quiet evening or enjoy live music and dancing at nearby nightclubs. Visit the Texas Reds and Red Lost Saloon, a 42-year old establishment filled with traditional dining. On Saturday nights, the place to be is the Ski Area's Rail Jam and Torchlight Parade, fireworks included, all best seen while listening to live music in the family-friendly Lift House Bar & Grill.
