Ski Experience - Sipapu

Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort is growing each year, but still small enough to feel cozy for families. The discount price range of lift tickets and the close-knit atmosphere makes it a popular family vacation spot with the longest ski season in the Rockies.

Ski Levels

Over 40 trails and two terrain parks offer something for everyone. Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort is the ideal resort for those who want to ski with their families. And it's perfect for those who want to avoid the large crowds, high lift-ticket prices and long lift lines at the larger resorts. There are enough long and challenging trails to keep even experienced skiers happy, while it's the perfect place for beginners to hit the slopes.

Après Ski

Dining at the River Café is a treat. This café, in Sipapu Lodge, features a menu with a variety of dishes and flavors. They pride themselves on home-cooked food with fresh, wholesome ingredients. You won't find frozen, canned, or boxed dishes at this café, and don't miss the special homemade desserts baked each day. The Sipa-Burger is a local favorite, but you can also get steak and New Mexican cuisine like burritos. The Sipapu Grill is available for typical lunch and dinner fare, from burgers and fries to New Mexican cuisine. Nightlife includes a lounge where they offer several varieties of beers and liquors with several local brews on tap. The fireplace in the lodge is a popular place to gather après ski for tales of the slopes or just family togetherness. Among the mom and pop shops, you can find almost two dozen varieties of homemade fudge, as well as basic supplies and souvenirs. There's also a full-service ski shop. Since the town is just 20 miles from Taos, many visitors travel there to experience the shops, restaurants, and many cultural activities like museums and festivals.

There are many family activities available for families, from ski and ice bowls to moonlight hikes and campfires. A ski school is available for kids and beginning skiers who want to improve their skill. Their February Fun Fest is perfect for families with snow castle building, treasure hunts, costume contests, bean bag and penny tosses, and a lot more family-friendly activities.
