Ski Apache / Ruidoso

Ski Apache is nestled in the Rocky Mountains of southern New Mexico. Towering over the village is Sierra Blanca, is the area’s 12,000-foot peak and the Mescalero Apaches’ ski resort, Ski Apache. Ski Apache offers one of the best skiing and snowboarding experiences in the Southwest and is about a 15-mile drive from Ruidoso.

Excellent Skiing—Historic Area

Skiers and boarders of all skill levels will enjoy 55 trails and a fall line of over 1,800 feet. Ski Apache is home to New Mexico’s only gondola as well as triple and quad chairs, which nearly eliminate long lift lines. The Boneyard Terrain Park features rails, jumps, and cool music for the extreme snowboarders. Incredible views await—one can even see White Sands National Monument (about 2.5 hours away!) from the top of Apache Bowl. Fly into Sierra Blanca Regional Airport or the Ruidoso Municipal Airport. Jump on NM-48 and head north, turn left on Co-Rd 532 for 10 miles and follow signs to the ski area.
