Gunstock Mountain Resort Ski Vacation Guide

Ski Levels

The mountain features 227 acres of skiable land, but the resort is home to over 2,220 acres. There are eight lifts, including a high-speed quad that is the third-longest ski lift in New Hampshire. With 55 ski trails, 21 night trails, 50 kilometers of cross-country trails, and a great terrain park. There are slopes for beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers. It should be noted that the majority of runs are at the intermediate level.

For those looking to experience more than alpine skiing, you should definitely plan a day to explore the 50 kilometers of trails for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Take time to enjoy the pristine beauty of the mountains and experience something different and enjoyable. The also offers private and group lessons available for alpine, cross-country skiing, and Skijoring. On top of that, the resort has 22 zip lines and some travel nearly 4,000 feet at 60 miles per hour! Off the Slopes

There is no lodging available at the resort, but fortunately there are many lodging options nearby, many within 15 minutes of the resort in the nearby towns of Meredith, Weirs Beach, and Tilton. The resort does offer a variety of dining options, including two pubs, a cafeteria, and a casual restaurant. This mountain has plenty to offer to families and individuals who simply love to be in the snow. It's a no-frills winter wonderland that caters to the ski aficionado.

Rider’s Guide

This is a magnificent New Hampshire resort with a eight lifts, including three surface lifts, two double chairs, two triple chairs, and one quad chair that take you up to 55 trails, including their longest run of 1.5 miles. The trails are rated 12 percent beginner, 61 percent intermediate, and 27 percent advanced.

Parks and Pipes

Gunstock’s Blundersmoke Terrain Park spreads out over 21 acres and is also lit up past dark for night riding. There is a monster halfpipe that will challenge any snowboarder’s skills, plus lots of fun winding trails with knolls and rollers.

Out of Bounds

When you’re here, you’re also very close to some other amazing resorts and destinations like Mount Sunapee, Pats Peak, Whaleback, and Ragged Mountain, whose winter wonderland charms are all well worth exploring. New Hampshire is a pleasure to discover, especially during the winter when the snow brings the chance to snowcat, snowmobile, sled, ice skate, off-road, rock or ice climb, cross-country ski, horseback ride, or ice fish. The mountains spring to life in the wintertime with snow tubing, sleigh rides and hot air balloon floats over spectacular mountain scenery.

Hangout & Hookup

The resort has two pubs that feature live music and karaoke, as well as a cafeteria and two additional casual eateries. Nearby at Weirs Beach is the famous Weirs Beach Lobster Pound restaurant, which features seafood, steak, seasonal local brews, and live music.
