Cannon Mountain

Cannon Mountain and Mittersill are two of the oldest ski areas in the country.

Historic and Beautiful

Nestled in the beautiful Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire, Cannon Mountain is steeped in American history since its opening as a ski resort in the 1930’s. It is remote, idyllic, and perfect for skiers and snowboarders looking to escape from the hustle and bustle. The pristine natural beauty of the State Park provides a peaceful backdrop, not found at many other resorts.

Off the Slopes

Here there is plenty to do beyond skiing and snowboarding. Every Saturday, Cannon Mountain hosts a family fun night. There are numerous ski races and competitions throughout the season. The area has sleigh rides and ice skating, as well as sledding and horseback riding. The Cannonball Pub, located at Peabody’s Base Lodge provides the perfect après ski atmosphere and live entertainment on the weekends. The resort has a retail shop located in the Notchview Lodge and at the Tram Base, as well as a ski and snowboard rental and service shop in the Peabody Lodge. There is no slope-side lodging, but there are many options for accommodation in the nearby towns of Lincoln, Woodstock, Franconia, Twin Mountain, Whitefield, Sugar Hill, and Littleton. The mountain provides a wonderful opportunity to ski or snowboard in the gorgeous and pristine Franconia Notch State Park. Its convenient location allows for an abundance of dining and lodging options in several of the nearby towns. Whether it’s a quiet weekend away, or a fun-filled family vacation, Cannon Mountain has it all.
