Mt. Rose

Mount Rose, located 25 miles from Reno, is an excellent choice for day skiing while enjoying the night life and dining of a big city. With easy shuttle services and ski and stay packages, it is also one of the least expensive ski areas of the Lake Tahoe area.

On the Slopes

This winter vacation wonderland is home to some of the best ski areas that you will find anywhere in the United States and Canada. Combine that with the renowned casinos and nightlife in Reno and visitors to the area are already well endowed with the makings for one fun Nevada ski vacation. Purchase your lift tickets online to save 25 percent on one, two, or even three days of skiing. Season pass holders save even more on mountain with 50 percent off ski equipment tuning and 25 percent off winter accessories at the resort's ski and snowboard shop, 431 Sports. There are many other incentives for getting a season pass including $1 off draft beers and wines at area bars, discounts on equipment rentals, and much more.

The base elevation is 8,260 feet, the highest of any Lake Tahoe skiing. There are 1,200 acres of skiable terrain and 120 of that is The Chutes—intense downhill skiing with 40-55 degree vertical drop of 1,500 feet. That expert terrain will challenge most advanced skiers and beginners or intermediates should stick to their designated slopes. Located on the Slide Bowl are two terrain parks for riders and trick enthusiasts. Learn more about the Ski Experience and the Snowboarding Zone before you travel.
