Red Lodge Mountain Resort

Red Lodge Mountain Resort is located in Montana near Billings, and is situated in the Beartooth Mountain Range. This ski resort, circa 1960, is located just minutes from the historic town of Red Lodge. The area is famous for Beartooth Pass, world-class skiing, unparalleled scenic beauty, and is also a doorway to the Yellowstone Country. Relish the surrounding beauty, immerse in history, challenge the slopes, catch a perfect powder day, look up to the sky, and take in some winter fresh mountain air.

Mountain Fun

The resort is six miles from the town of Red Lodge. With 250 inches of snow atop the peaks, visitors will span the mountains of both Montana and Wyoming. The spring time snows are some of the best in the country, but by December the base is already at 30 plus inches. The summit elevation is 9,416 feet with a base elevation of over 7,000 feet. The mountains are steep with a 2,400 drop and there are 70 trails, from easy slopes to steep expert trails. There's a terrain park with tables, rails, step-ups and spines and lessons for those who are wanting to learn to ski or snowboard. Discover more with Ski Experience and Snowboarding Zone.

There are many great options in the town of Red Lodge including restaurants, activities, shops, and nightlife. You have several options for lodging in the area, from rustic accommodations like Beartooth Hideaway Cabins, to resort accommodations at Rock Creek Resort, and everything in between, like a Comfort Inn or one of the many inns and hotels in the area. There are also a variety of vacation homes for rent, as well as the classic bed & breakfast in the area, Gallagher's Irish Rose.

November hosts A Taste of Red Lodge, where visitors and residents can enjoy the area's finest cuisine. You can come to ski, but enjoy things like the Rocky Mountain Winter Games, the National Ski-Joring Finals, the Hancock Cup or the Citizens Cup, which are some of the local snowboarding and skiing competitions.
