Crystal Mountain

Drive 20 minutes east of the big lake in the Northwest portion of lower Michigan, and you’ll uncover Crystal Mountain, a popular ski resort destination. Rising above the valley, the family-owned ski area is dedicated to satisfying guests with top-shelf service, impeccably groomed runs, and the natural vistas of this beautiful part of the Lower Peninsula.

Fresh Midwestern Tracks

Sitting above the Bestie Valley, Crystal Mountain Resort is perfectly situated to receive the best of lake effect snow in the winter. The tree lines overlooking a Scottish-themed village at the water’s edge help to produce in an unforgettable ski experience that’s distinctly Michigan.

The mountain itself contains about 50 downhill slopes, miles of groomed cross-country trails, and acres of wooded valleys for all skill levels.  Snowboarders are welcomed with special terrain features built throughout the runs, and that are suited for both riders and skiers.

Off the Slopes

Michigan winters can be a bit brisk, and fortunately, Crystal Mountain offers many fun diversions to help guests enjoy the season to its fullest.  Aside from alpine skiing, guests can traverse through the snow on horse-drawn surrey rides, dog sleds, snowshoes, snowmobiles or even snow bikes.  Activities abound both during winter and off-season at the outdoor pool and water playground found at the Park at Water’s Edge.

Few Midwestern resorts can lay claim to the quality and variety of accommodations that Crystal Mountain offers.  The village area offers multiple and unique lodging, dining and shopping options such as the Cottages at Water’s Edge and Mountaintop condominiums at the summit. The resort’s many hotel rooms, suites, condos, townhomes and private residences feature varying perks and amenities with the convenience of staying near the lifts.  Proximity to Lake Michigan and its many wineries and ports provide even more options within a short drive in the neighboring towns.

Getting Here

You can find Crystal Mountain Resort in the northwest part of lower Michigan, on M-115, about 28 miles southwest of Traverse City, or 37 miles northwest of Cadillac.
