Mount Abram

Mount Abram in Maine is a refreshingly simple and unpretentious resort, located just five miles south of Bethel, which many consider to be “Maine’s Most Beautiful Mountain Village.”

Little Gem in Maine

The mountain offers a fantastic skiing experience for a fraction of the cost found at other resorts. Often overlooked by skiers and riders, Mount Abram has been called a “little gem” by Ski Magazine. The ski area strongly believes in keeping a keen focus on the family and celebrates throughout the year with wonderful events like their famous New Year’s celebration, box sled race, and much more. Events kickoff into high gear during school vacations and holidays, which makes the mountain a huge hit for school kids and their parents. There is a lovely ski school on the mountain, as well as an independent nonprofit ski school dedicated to promoting snow sport education to children in Western Maine.

The mountain boasts 44 trails for a variety of ability and experience levels and a wonderful freestyle park located near the main lodge. The more than 40 trails are divided as follows, 25 percent beginner, 50 percent intermediate, 20 percent difficult, and 5 percent expert. The ski area is also the first resort to implement Maine’s “Boundary to Boundary” policy, which expanded the areas skiable acreage to over 550, much of which is exhilarating gladed areas, tree runs, and incredible powder stashes. The resort boasts a staggering 1,150-foot vertical drop, which is guaranteed to challenge even the most seasoned skier and rider.

Off the Slopes

Guests can warm up by the fire at the Resort’s Westside Lodge or enjoy a drink of two at the Loose Boots Lounge. Food, drinks, and good times are all served. There is no slope-side lodging available at the mountain, but the resort partners with many local lodging in the area and offers many great ski and stay packages throughout the season.
