Silver Mountain Resort

This resort is home to two mountains featuring more than 70 trails and over 1,600 acres of ski terrain plus 300+ inches of snow each year.

Guaranteed Good Snow

With an average of 305 inches per year, the snow is nowhere near as wet and stodgy as the resorts in Washington and Oregon. The mountain is also much sunnier than many Washington resorts and is less subject to mid-season thaws. AND Out of all the resorts we research and write about, this is possibly the greatest thing we've found—the resort offers a guarantee you'll be pleased with the snow conditions on either of its two mountains! If you're not, then you only need to take your lift ticket back to the gondola base within an hour-and-a-half, and you'll get a free pass for another day of skiing. Lift tickets range from around $50 for a full a full day adult ticket to around $35 for a kids and juniors. Wow—amazing is that?! Find out more about the experience of skiing here and read up on why snowboarders will love the terrain parks.

Off the Slopes

This is the ideal place for family vacations because of the outdoor ski and snow sports activities. There are trails and features suitable for ever skier and rider level, from advanced to beginning and brand new. The resort is known for its many nooks and crannies and small hidden glades where skiers can find fresh, undisturbed powder even days after snowfall. In addition, the resort has Idaho's largest indoor waterpark, Silver Rapids. This waterpark is as large as a football field and kept at a comfortable, warm temperature year round.

There are many great family-friendly places to stay. There are condominiums ideal for families and large groups. There are also many lodging choices from hotels to motels to private home rentals around the area. By staying at the resort you will enjoy things like a fitness center, common areas with cozy fireplaces, and high-speed Internet access, as well as access to the waterpark. Five outdoor fireplaces and a canteen offer fun and relaxation for residents of the Morning Star Lodge, while dozens of shops and stores offering shopping for both necessities and luxuries.  Take a nice gondola right through the resort while you are there. The gondola hangs low and moves over the homes in Wardner with spectacular views.
