Woodbury Ski Area

Woodbury Ski Area in Connecticut is a spectacular year-round mountain area offering skiing, riding, snow tubing, cross-country skiing, and ski biking.

New York City's Closest Ski Resort

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Litchfield Hills, the mountain has the distinction of being the closest Connecticut ski area to New York City and the largest snowtubing park. Woodbury has worked hard on upgrades and renovations in the recent past and is proud to boast a brand new lodge, advanced snowmaking and grooming machines, and newly expanded terrain for both the learn-to-ski program and the terrain park for guests to explore and enjoy.

Woodbury also has the distinction of being one of the first ski area open in the East. Discover why so many Eastern skiers return year after year. There is also a terrain park with beginner, intermediate, and advanced jumps, rails, jibs and boxes, and a perfect challenge to all levels of freestyle skier. Off the Slopes

As an added bonus Woodbury offers great group rates for school programs, Christmas holiday skiing and weekend ski camps, as well as fun corporate ski parties. The resort believes in wholesome fun at affordable prices which makes it a well-loved family favorite in New England. Furthermore, the lodge is available for rental at reasonable rates and makes the perfect place for birthday parties, special events, and family gatherings.

There is no slope side lodging available at Woodbury ski area, but its proximity to town offers plenty of choices nearby. From budget motels to historic inns and upscale hotels, the area is replete with accommodation. The most idyllic place to stay is The Boulders Inn, an absolutely gorgeous inn on the shores of Lake Waramaug. As far as dining options in the area, there is a cafeteria at the ski area, and Woodbury also has a lot of great places to eat. From casual diners and authentic New York style bagels to high-end Italian and seafood specialty restaurants, there’s something for everyone in Woodbury.

Getting Here

There are a variety of public transportation options can take you to and from town. By car, the resort is located just off of 1-84 on Highway 47.
