Northstar-at-Tahoe is a shining example of what a ski resort ought to be. Now part of the famous Vail Resorts, you can get one pass and ski over eight destinations.

Tahoe Bound

The enormous ski area spans more than 3,000 acres, descends more than 2,280 vertical feet, and houses more than 90 named runs and over 300 acres of blissful back country. The area is served by over a dozen lifts, contains seven terrain parks, more than five-gladed trails, and over 20 miles of impeccably groomed Nordic terrain. The terrain runs the gamut from gentle sweeping slopes to nearly vertical steeps and challenging tree skiing. The varied terrain makes it an ideal adventure destination for eager novices and seasoned experts alike. All visitors need to see is their extensive list of accolades from top industry magazines to see that Northstar is an all-around fantastic place.

Off the Slopes

The village at Nothstar is overflowing with fun activities. There is a gorgeous ice skating rink in the center of town and all along its borders are groups of people roasting s’mores in the tiny rink side fire pits. There is also great shopping, dining, and entertainment found throughout the season. The great outdoors in Tahoe has fantastic activities such as snowtubing, ice skating, outdoor pools and spas, snowmobiling, dog sledding, and don’t forget Northstar’s own APEX bungee trampolines for big air off the slopes.

The village has plenty of accommodations ranging from budget options all the way to fancy five-star lodging. The village boasts several large hotels, the Northstar Lodging, Tahoe Mountain Resort Lodging, the Hyatt and the Ritz-Carlton. However, in the area the bed count is well above 10,000, so guests will have a myriad of options to choose from when heading to the Tahoe region. As an added bonus Northstar runs several extraordinary ski and stay vacation discount packages each season, many of which offer free nights of lodging or heavily discounted lift tickets.

Getting Here

Located about 30 minutes from Reno and roughly three hours from the Bay Area off of Highway 267 exit on Interstate 80 (I-80). Shuttle services are available to Northstar from Reno, North Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, and the Bay Area.
