Ski & Ride Guide

Mountain High Resort presents skiers and riders with a base elevation of about 6600 feet rising up to 8200 feet at the peak, with a 1600-foot vertical drop at the East Resort.  Trails are dispersed among ability levels:  about 20% of the terrain are beginner trails, 42% intermediate, 34% advanced, and 3% of technical terrain for experts skiers and riders.

About 14 lifts serve a total of 59 trails and one terrain park spread on more than 290 acres of skiable terrain.  The average snowfall depth of 142” annually is perfectly supplemented by snow-making ability which covers nearly 80% of the resort which helps to deliver more consistent snow conditions from November through April.

Closeness to the city, stellar instructors and top-shelf amenities all work together to present an easy entry for first-time skiers and riders. The ski schools at Mountain High are held at both East and West areas and provide a variety of options for guests to learn to ski and ride. The Winter Sports School teaches the latest techniques to help shorten the learning time to get down slope. Over at West Resort, The Children's Sports Center teaches progressive skills in both indoor and outdoor environments, and the Burton Youth Learn-to-Ride program offers the latest techniques and equipment for the youngest riders. Wiser skiers and riders aged 50+, will enjoy the Senior Stars specifically designed for them.
