Find Your Ski Area:

Ski Experience - Sierra-at-Tahoe

The resort has the distinct pleasure of being blessed with pristine conditions, fantastic geographical location, and some of the most exhilarating backcountry terrain in the area at both Huckleberry and Mott Canyon. Its ideal location on the western slope of the Sierras ensures that the bevy of storms from the Pacific Ocean dump nearly 500 inches of pure powdery bliss on the slopes each year. The mountain’s north face is well protected and guests can expect to find fresh powder caches days after a storm.

Ski Levels

Sierra has terrain for everyone from groomed cruisers to natural steeps and chutes that will get even the most seasoned skier and boarder’s knees shaking. There are over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain at the resort and more than 45 trails. Beginners use 25 percent of the trails, half of the terrain is great for intermediate levels and the remaining 25 percent is perfect for expert and advanced skiers. Skiers of all ability levels will enjoy the discounted lift tickets and passes to Sierra-at-Tahoe throughout the season. Because of the bounty of snow the resort receives each year, Sierra sticks to minimal snowmaking which means that runs remain smooth throughout the season instead of reverting to chunky messes. However, there is grooming on more than two-thirds of the trails nightly, which ensures runs are left in great condition.

The resort offers several essential services throughout the winter. There is daycare for children aged 18 months and up. There is an extensive ski and snowboard school, which will teach all ages and experience levels, alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemarking. The Learn To Ski/Ride Center offers beginner-specific equipment and their professional instructors will make sure everything fits properly so that guests can be focused and comfortable during their lesson. Group lessons and specialized camps offer a social learning setting while private lessons offer personalized one-on-one attention for both individuals and families.

Après Ski

The area has delightful morning cafes with coffee and pastries, cafeteria-style dining with hearty home cooked meals, healthy vegetarian options, and a casual pub and tiki bar. The resort offers a complimentary shuttle, “The Hub,” which goes to and from the South Lake Tahoe region as well as around the resort every day. The resort partners with many of the areas lodging and restaurants to offer unbeatable ski and stay vacation packages as well as fabulous discounts on dining and other activities throughout the winter.
