Spanning 2,500 acres, Snowbird is a revered winter destination because of its long standing reputation for great skiing, the best powder on earth, lovely amenities and lodges and a top-notch friendly staff who are always happy to help. Snowbird is a dream come true for skiers and snowboarders the world over who seek an all-around first-class ski and snowboard resort.

A Real Winter Wonderland

Snowbird is a breathtaking ski resort nestled in Little Cottonwood Canyon inside of the gorgeous Wasatch National Forest. The drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon transports visitors into a snow blanketed, alpine wonderland of stunning jagged peaks, big open skies, and dense kelly green forests. The resort is absolutely enormous, with 3,200 feet of vertical that is spread out over 2,500 acres—every ability level of skier and snowboarder will find terrain to suit them. There are more than 85 named runs (27 percent novice/beginner, 38 percent intermediate, and 35 percent advanced/expert). It also has some of the most hair-raising steeps and chutes in the area in their massive back country. The summit of the mountain is 11,000 feet and guests can take the area’s longest run down, Chip’s Run (2.5 miles) or opt for the longest decent on Gad Valley (3.5 miles). The diverse terrain, excellent weather conditions, and immense vertical help make it a premier skiing destination. Snowbird and its neighbor Alta generally have the longest season of all the resorts in the area, starting in mid-November and sometimes lasting until the Fourth of July.

On the slopes, guests will find plenty of activities such as snowshoeing, back-country skills clinics, avalanche safety courses, night skiing and snowboarding, and guided snowmobile tours. In and around the area, guests can participate in mountain school camps, ice skating, as well as a series of amateur races throughout the season.

Off the Slopes

Snowbird has several lodges located slope side and dozens of eateries, be it budget-conscious, casual, or high-end luxury. Throughout the season, the resort runs fantastic ski and stay specials, with heavily discounted lodging and lift tickets (with the purchase of multi-day stays). An additional perk at the resort is their renowned Cliff Spa, services include massage, yoga, a salon, as well as access to their stunning rooftop pool and hot tub.
