Wildcat Mountain

Voted #1 for the best scenery in North America by SKI Magazine, Wildcat Mountain, is an absolutely stunning resort and the Northeast’s highest peak. In addition to breathtaking landscapes, the mountain has been named as one of the top ten resorts in the East for terrain, challenge, and value.

Demanding Attention

There are some mountains that catch your attention and other that demand it, Wildcat Mountain is one of those mountains. Providing visitors with unforgettable experiences season after season, Wildcat features 50 trails on 225 acres, and visitors should expect to find wide-groomed trails, glades, bumps, steeps, and back-country tree skiing. With 90 percnet snow-making capability and an average natural snowfall of over 16 feet, visitors can be sure the terrain will fit the ability levels of all skiers with challenging and exhilarating runs. The runs are divided as follows, 25 percent beginner, 45 percent intermediate, and 30 percent expert and advanced. The mountain has an impressive 2,100 feet of vertical and more than 17 km of expert cross-country trails.

Off the Slopes

There are plenty of different lodging accommodations and dining choices for visitors to pick from that suit any budget. Slope-side accommodation is unavailable because of their efforts to keep development to a minimum, in order to preserve the natural beauty of the area. Fortunately, there are numerous lodging options nearby, many of which offer great ski and stay packages. From hostels and motels to inns, lodges and bed and breakfasts, the area has accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets.

Located near Jackson, and 15 miles south of Gorham there are several towns nearby the offer lodging, dining, and additional amenities. North Conway is the area’s largest town and is just 20 miles south of the mountain. The resort has one cafeteria style eatery and its own pub, which is a wonderful option for après ski entertainment. Jackson and Gorham both have a delightful selection of restaurants and pubs. The Inn at Thorn Hill in Jackson was recently rated one of the top 100 resorts in the world by Conde Nast Magazine and offers gourmet meals by renowned chefs.

Getting Here

The resort is located near Pinkham Notch, NH and right next to Mt. Washington. By plane, the closest airports are located in Portland, ME (79 miles) and Boston, MA (149 miles). Bus service is also available to and from South Station in Boston with stops in North Conway Village and Jackson twice daily via Concord Coach Lines. By car, take Route 16 to Pinkham Notch, which is halfway between Gorham and Jackson.
