On the Slopes

Panoramic views of Glacier National Park, the Flathead Valley, and even the Canadian Rockies are available from the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort, trademarked by its distinctive snow ghosts—tall conifers hibernating under thick pillows of snow. The great attributes of this mountain are the perfect pitch, great tree skiing, off-piste terrain, as well as groomed runs for awesome carving for skiers and snowboarders. Snowboarders agree, this is a natural playground! Travel the mountain’s backyard via a snowmobile for a different adventure. Hit the snowshoe trail for adventure. Stay on the mountain or in town in historic bed and breakfast joints or luxurious condominiums. The offers a self-contained alpine village including lodging, restaurants, and taverns. The non-glitzy rail town of Whitefish, just a short drive down the hill, is home to an array of accommodations, eateries, and bars. If staying in town, getting to Whitefish Mountain is easy by just riding the free Snow Bus.

Fly into Glacier International Airport, 19 miles to the south in Kalispell. It’s about a five hour drive from Helena or Spokane, but what a drive it is!
