The two closest ski areas are 49° Mountain Resort and Mt. Spokane. They are delightful resorts that offer great skiing and riding, awesome mountains, and well-appointed resort areas. Oftentimes, better deals on equipment, rentals and soft goods can be found in the metropolitan area of Spokane, as it is usually more expensive on the mountain.

49° Mountain Resort is 42 miles outside of the city. In all there is 2,325 acres of ski patrolled area, 1,851 feet of vertical and more than 300 inches of average annual snowfall. The runs are greatly varied, 30 percent beginner, 40 percent intermediate, 25 percent advanced, and 5 percent expert. The resort is extremely family-friendly, has a great ski school, and helpful, knowledgeable staff. Visitors also enjoy the great terrain and amazing snow conditions.

Mt. Spokane is only 28 miles from downtown. The ski area spans 1,425 acres and has more than 2,000 feet of vertical. Additionally, there is a mile-long terrain park, fun tree skiing, and a ski school to teach the beginners how to stop, turn, and fall. There’s also an inexpensive and convenient shuttle from Spokane, so skiers and riders don’t have to worry about traffic and driving up to the mountain. The locals absolutely love it here, so always be resprectful of their home and surround areas.
