Plattekill Mountain

The small and intimate Plattekill Mountain is a celebrated, family friendly resort that offers world-class skiing and lessons at affordable prices. A labor of love for the owners, a married couple who have been going to the resort since they were young, Danielle and Laszlo Vajtay have worked hard to make Plattekill a mellow, but quality resort.

Catskill's Laid-Back Style

Located in the gorgeous Catskill Mountains of New York Plattekill has exhilarating runs, stunning landscapes and fun for the whole family. Plattekill Mountain isn’t about being huge or flashy. Plattekill is a simple mountain resort that focuses on having the best snow, well-groomed trails, and the friendliest staff. The small crowds found at the resort ensure that each guest experiences short lift lines and enjoys the maximum amount of space to try out new tricks and hone their skills. The resort has 35 trails spread over 75 acres with just three lifts, one terrain park, and more than 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The double diamond "Blockbuster" plummets the full 1,100 feet of “continuous vertical” and is one of the steepest runs in the region.

Off the Slopes

Plattekill has no lodging of its own but partners with various hotels, inns, and condos in the area to offer guests amazing ski and stay packages. There are plenty of places to choose from that are guaranteed to fit any budget. The Roxbury Hotel is located five miles from the resort and has been voted one of the “Top 100 Hotels in North America” by National Geographic. The historic 400-acre Stone Tavern horse farm is one of the most beautiful spots in the region and located just one mile from the mountain.

Dining options abound at Plattekill and in the surrounding towns. The resort features modest fare at their restaurant and an après ski bar. Binnekill Square Restaurant, in nearby Margaretville, specializes in schnitzel, spaetzle, venison stew and a variety of other hot and hearty meals. The T-Bar and Summerfield's are also near the resort and offer a warm and ambient après ski atmosphere.
